video: wavves - king of the beach

this new wavves video has everything in it that a wavves video should: kitty cats, the beach, members of the band sitting around playing fifa and smoking weed, pictures of cramer, counterfeit money, tattoos, bongs, and bling. yes, indeed.

wavves: tv luv song

a brand spankin' new track from nathan williams (wavves) about sitting around on your ass like a worthless loser, watching television, and feeling just fine about it. sounds good to me! the supplementary art work, provided by robert wolfe, will supposedly be on the pending self-released single.

best coast / wavves show review

This week lo-fi lovebirds Wavves and Best Coast performed at the House of Blues, delivering the sun drenched blend of rock they're known best for; record mates No Joy opened. This being my second time to see Wavves, I knew what to expect: a good deal of dancing and sing alongs. They played several tracks off the new album King Of the Beach, and favorites such as "No Hope Kids" and "California Goths", ending with new single "Post Acid". Best Coast was last to play, taking us to chill town with songs like "Boyfriend" and "When i'm With You", as well as a handful of new ones, even performing a cover of country artist Loretta Lynn's "Fist City". Though Nathan didn't come join her on stage for a cute little duet encore, the Cali natives brought spectacularly energetic performances.

punk rock, surfer, pothead extraordinaire Nathan Williams is back again with his third album released by Wavves, called King of the Beach. the album was released in August by Fat Possum records (out of Oxford, Mississippi), and i can't get enough of it! William's, now joined by members from the band of the late great Jay Reatard (Billy Hayes & Stephen Pope), are on tour now. their closest proximity to us will be fun fun fun fest on the 6th of November. this is the first single from King of the Beach, called "Post Acid."
