p.s. what's with this new mini-fad of putting cute dogs on indie album covers? For the record, I dig it.

[new] Beirut - "East Harlem"
Beirut has graced us with a new track. "East Harlem" is the title track off a new 7" via frontman Zach Condon's own Pompeii label that will be available at all of their live shows (including their stop in NOLA on Friday 6/10 at Republic). The song continues to pave the way of Beirut's worldly, horn-laden, gypsy folk aesthetic. Check it out below:

[new] Young & Sick - S.E.X.X.X.
It has been a while. I've been on the road for the last two weeks, but just finally made it to LA. Life has been hectic trying to find a place and settle down, but things finally seem to be working out. The launch of the new art/official has been postponed a few weeks due to the craziness of summer plans, but be sure when the launch happens it will be EPIC!I come back from my hiatus with this for you all. Sexy baby making beats complete with heavy bass for your ears. Not much is known about this new artist, but Young & Sick is sure to make a lot of noise in the coming months. Enjoy.
Lots of love,
Aaron

[video] Yellow Ostrich - "W H A L E"
New York's charming, less-is-more trio Yellow Ostrich has put their song "WHALE" in a PSA for IMAlive.org, an online crisis network helping those with depression. I'm not sure if this will act as the official video or not, but the band's minimalist, percussive indie folk works well here. Check it out below:

Three Olives Vodka - Sugar Daddies
The three videos in the TV Campaign thus far, which have been available here since March, are more like any comedic cartoon series I would watch online than a series of advertisements. They remind me of the cartoons I thought were funny when I was little, even though I didn’t really understand the topics they were talking about until I was older. The lovely illustrations by Ant Blades and the interesting adaptations of the classic “Three guys walk into a bar…” jokes are a perfect match.
Bravo Three Olives.

[new] ty segall - "you make the sun fry"

my favorite california garage rock all star, ty segall, would never hang up his thrashing shoes (i hope) - but just because he still loves to jump around on stage in a jean jacket and play gg allin covers doesn't mean he can't be a singer-songwriter too (or something like that). he has, after all, admitted that his upcoming album Goodbye Bread (out June 21 via drag city) will be more "thoughtful." well that's pretty cute, ty - and so is that album cover. check out one of the songs from the upcoming album below:

[listen] Unreleased Tracks from The Weeknd
Some unheard tracks from the obscure post-R&B artist The Weeknd have surfaced online. These songs don't fall far from the tree of the highly-acclaimed debut mixtape, House Of Balloons, available for free download here. This music is dark and sexy — perfect for a humid summer night in the backseat. Stream them below:

Pictureplane-Real is a Feeling(video)
Appropriately named after his epic dance parties held at Rhinoceropolis, his home in Denver, Real is a Feeling, in its literal expression, sums up everything that Egedy stands for. Being a genuine person, or being real rather, is a rarity these days. I know everyone has posted this already but it dropped recently (via Blogs Westword). The new album Thee Physical, will be released on July 19th through Lovepump United. Directed by the imaginative Sterling Crispin, this video is pretty out there, and i'd have it no other way.
