Art/Official gladly presents a DJ set by producer/DJ Citoyens at the Eiffel Society.

Citoyens, a local artist, produces Electro-Clash in the vein of Justice, Daft Punk, and MSTRKRFT. The set will include much of Citoyens' own work, as well as a variety of Electro, House, and Disco tracks.
Eiffel Society is a new gallery, music venue, and bar located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The cover is $10, but if you tell the doorman that you learned of the show from Art/Official, you'll only be charged $5! So get over here and shake your rumps!

[live] Beirut @ the Republic

this friday evening, before heading to a sold out bonnaroo, one of my favorite folk bands of all time, Beirut, will be performing at the Republic in the CBD. the band is currently on tour to support their third studio album, the Rip Tide, which is set for release on August 30. Zach Condon and company will be share the stage with Twin Sister, a quintet from brooklyn who seems to open for personal favorites every time they play in Nola (last year they opened for Devendra at the House of Blues).

Don't miss out on this show, and get your tickets early over @ the Republics website; I predict a sell out.
check out a few Beirut songs below, including the title track from their latest single release,"East Harlem."

[new] Beirut - "East Harlem"

Beirut has graced us with a new track. "East Harlem" is the title track off a new 7" via frontman Zach Condon's own Pompeii label that will be available at all of their live shows (including their stop in NOLA on Friday 6/10 at Republic). The song continues to pave the way of Beirut's worldly, horn-laden, gypsy folk aesthetic. Check it out below:

p.s. what's with this new mini-fad of putting cute dogs on indie album covers? For the record, I dig it.

[new] Young & Sick - S.E.X.X.X.

It has been a while. I've been on the road for the last two weeks, but just finally made it to LA. Life has been hectic trying to find a place and settle down, but things finally seem to be working out. The launch of the new art/official has been postponed a few weeks due to the craziness of summer plans, but be sure when the launch happens it will be EPIC!

I come back from my hiatus with this for you all. Sexy baby making beats complete with heavy bass for your ears. Not much is known about this new artist, but Young & Sick is sure to make a lot of noise in the coming months. Enjoy.

Lots of love,

[video] Yellow Ostrich - "W H A L E"

New York's charming, less-is-more trio Yellow Ostrich has put their song "WHALE" in a PSA for IMAlive.org, an online crisis network helping those with depression. I'm not sure if this will act as the official video or not, but the band's minimalist, percussive indie folk works well here. Check it out below:

Three Olives Vodka - Sugar Daddies

The three videos in the TV Campaign thus far, which have been available here since March, are more like any comedic cartoon series I would watch online than a series of advertisements.  They remind me of the cartoons I thought were funny when I was little, even though I didn’t really understand the topics they were talking about until I was older.  The lovely illustrations by Ant Blades and the interesting adaptations of the classic “Three guys walk into a bar…” jokes are a perfect match.

Bravo Three Olives.
